Hot off the heels of the HUGE backlash from gamers and poor pre order sales they did an absolute 360…pun intended. Here is the news straight from the Microsoft Website!
So, today I am announcing the following changes to Xbox One and how you can play, share, lend, and resell your games exactly as you do today on Xbox 360. Here is what that means:
- An internet connection will not be required to play offline Xbox One games – After a one-time system set-up with a new Xbox One, you can play any disc based game without ever connecting online again. There is no 24 hour connection requirement and you can take your Xbox One anywhere you want and play your games, just like on Xbox 360.
- Trade-in, lend, resell, gift, and rent disc based games just like you do today – There will be no limitations to using and sharing games, it will work just as it does today on Xbox 360.
So look at that!!! The cry of the people have been heard! I am so hard pressed to see how the news will ripple through the community. Will the converted Xbox fans go back? Who knows but this is great news. I for one was bashing the Xbox One and was not afraid to speak my mind. I guess it goes to show we do have a voice. Hey Blake guess what you can buy an Xbox One now! LOL I know he was on the fence about it. He know I was going to buy a PS4 regardless but he was always an Xbox man. Just was hurting him inside to see his console act like Big Brother. There is more here http://news.xbox.com/2013/06/update for you to read up on. So good news for those who want to just play games on the Xbox One.
