Microsoft E3 2019 Details

Microsoft came out the gate swinging. Their focus now more than ever is about games. They showed off more than 60 games. Impressive enough most was done in house from the Xbox Games Division. They even showed us their next console. Project Scarlett, which is coming out Holiday 2020. Here are my top picks of games that interested me in their E3 presentation.

From developer Obsidian Entertainment, which is known for RPGs like Fallout: New Vegas and Pillars of Eternity. Microsoft acquired Obsidian in November 2018.
The Outer Worlds is coming October 25 to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.

Bleeding Edge is a colorful multiplayer game featuring a large cast of characters, some of whom look like they’re part machine.
Ninja Theory announced that the technical alpha for Bleeding Edge will start on June 29.

Although we saw a similar trailer at EA Play, Miscrosoft gave us an extra treat. Fallen Order is coming to consoles and PC on November 15.

This game caught me off guard. I thought it was Silent Hill LOL. It is Blair Witch, a game based on the popular horror movie franchise of the same name. The trailer showed a man and his dog exploring a forest teeming with creepy ghouls and other unsavory creatures.

CD Projekt Red’s upcoming sci-fi RPG returned to the Xbox stage witth a new cinematic trailer. It showed your player character (who you can customize) meeting with one of the top criminals in the city. He had just come from a heated gun fight.
One big surprise was John Wick aka Keanu Reeves will play a character in the game. The actor appeared on stage to rapturous applause to talk about his involvement in Cyberpunk 2077. He announced that it’s coming to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on April 16, 2020. This is the year of Keaanu Reeves!

I am not happy what they did to Battletoads. Not a fan of the art direction.

Microsofts’s ID@Xbox program. Indie games. Yep.

Microsoft talked about Xbox Ultimate Game Pass — for $14.99 a month, you can get Game Pass on both Xbox One and PC. Xbox Game Pass is winning.

This one is a classic. Being only on PC I was intrigued to see this IP makes it way on the console. This game will take advantage of Microsoft Azure AI.

To be honest I never played the first Psychonauts. So seeing this trailer must of been a delight to those who are fans of the first game.

While WB Games has made a lot of Lego Star Wars games in the past, The Skywalker Saga is a brand new game that includes content based on all nine films in the main series, including the yet-to-be-released TheRise of Skywalker.

Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot is an action-RPG based on the popular anime series.

Gears of War 5 is coming. I won’t lie I am itching to play the last one just so I can understand what is going on with this chick!

This is a big game right here! Sega’s popular MMO will have cross play on Xbox and PC.

Tails of Arise is the next entry in Bandai Namco’s ongoing Japanese RPG series. It’s coming to consoles and PC in 2020.

Elden Ring is a collaboration between Dark Souls creator From Software and “A Song of Ice and Fire” author George R.R. Martin.

Project Scarlett, will be launching in holiday 2020. This thing is a beast! I am totally aboard this hype train.

Halo Infinite will come out on Scarlett (and presumably Xbox One) holiday 2020. The new trailer showed a character who finds a non-functioning Master Chief floating in space. I have come to one conclusion. Master Chief can not die.

I was very impressed with the Microsoft presentation. They showed us a varied amount of games and some surprises. Keanu Reeves being featured as a character in the Cyberpunk game raised my interest. The Ultimate game pass and also the news about their new console Project Scarlett. They checked off all my boxes from my list of things to do for an E3 presentation. With all those “L”s they been getting from Sony it is about time they get it right. I give them a B+
