Justice League Dark Trailer Review

DC animation is getting dark… With the recent release of Doctor Strange from Marvel we see the recent trend of “magic” making it’s way to the public even more. Not to mention something that is becoming a norm..

It is Rated R. Like its predecessor Batman: The Killing Joke. Which I may say did have some disturbing content…( Batman and Batgirl bumping ugly comes to mind ). I am not sure if this is a decision that DC animation studio made lightly. As a parent who watches cartoons with my son I do find this a little troubling. This animated movie have some characters that isn’t new to the silver screen.

John Constantine is the leader for The Justice League Dark

Constantine forms a team of other supernatural superheroes — Swamp Thing, Deadman, Zatanna, and Etrigan the Demon — to help save the world.¬†We can see the direction this animation is going. Where magic, demons and other things that go bump in the night causing problems. Being Rated-R tells me that there will be some action that may be disturbing. Watching the trailer I done see the dynamics between Constantine and Batman will be the highlight of this animated movie.

Justice League Dark is directed by Jay Oliva (Batman: The Dark Knight Returns) from a story by J.M. DeMatteis and Ernie Altbacker (Green Lantern: The Animated Series). Altbacker also wrote the teleplay. James Tucker (Batman Bad Blood, Batman: Return of the Caped Crusaders) is Supervising Producer. Benjamin Melniker and Michael Uslan are Executive Producers, along with Sam Register.

Justice League Dark will available released on DVD, Blu-ray, and digital in early 2017.
