It’s been a while.. yes I know I tend to disappear and reappear. For that, I do apologise for being super quiet. The crew and I recently returned from New York Comic-Con and it was a blast. I truly believe that persons who enjoy comics, anime and getting the latest scoop on movies should definitely attend a convention. Who knows, you might find someone who stays the same thoughts as you and develop a networking relationship.
If you’re into books and comics then the Artist Alley is the place you need to be. There, you can interact with the writers and artists for some of your favorite comic books. If you’re lucky enough you can have your book autograph by them. You can also see you favorite movie actors and actresses. At this particular convention, the organizers brought celebrities such as Ryan Rebels, Tom Hiddleston (Loki), Paul Rudd (Ant Man), the original actors for the Power Rangers, Jodi Benson (the voice of Ariel in the Little Mermaid), Anika Nono Rose (the voice of Tiana in The Princess and the Frog) and so much more. Yes, you do have to pay in order to see and get their autograph.
The guys got the opportunity and saw sneak peeks of up and coming movie Picard. There were massive information on release dates and previews on various anime series and play video games, purchase various merchandise like Funko, shirts, costumes, props and as I said before, the list goes on…
Photographers this is something you might also be interested in as you’ll have the opportunity to expand your creativity within your photos. Photographers who range from noobs to experts were there taking pictures of various cosplayers. Some photographers even took pictures of me and they were released on my Instagram page. Check it out at BVImermaid.
For me, at the convention, I gravitate towards the cosplay content. I love the panel discussions. There’s not the only panel related to cosplay but it varies from movies, comics, and anime.
The panel discussion which I’ve attended were talking about :
first steps into cosplaying
Body positivity and
Leveling up your cosplay
I’ve learned a lot while having fun interacting with other cosplayers. I even got the opportunity to interact and take photos with cosplayers I even follow on Instagram and Twitter such as Tranquilash, and Cutiepiesenei just to name a few. Would you like to see the Virgin Islands have it’s own Comic Con convention? Let me know in the comments below and let’s see if we can arrange one.
Anyways enough about that as this blog is about the Joker! Yes! UPs Cineplex is finally going to get the Joker. It will be released on October 24th. I guess better late than never. The crew got the opportunity to watch it and it awesome! Definitely a must-watch. Caribnerd released a spoiler-free review about it so I’m not going to elaborate any more on the film. Go ahead and read his review of the film.
After watching it, Blake and I were inspired to do a quick cosplay on the Joker and here they are!
I hope I’ve captured the personality and essence of Arthur Fleck aka “the Joker” who is played by Joaquin Phoenix in this movie
Hope you guys like it.
