Battlefield 4 E-sports and No Co Op

The news just keeps flowing. No BF4 for the Wii-U, interested in e-sports and No Co Op. So lets dig in. Watching this interview by Luetin09 gave us a deeper idea of what to see in the new instalment of BF4.

The main points that I would like to point out are the no co op and esports.

“I can say that eSports is an area that we are very interested in,”

I personally think this is great news. Being a Host for gaming Tournaments I always wanted to play competitively on the PS3 or Xbox 360. Always having to play the COD series starting to get old fast. I will be following that portion very closely. He also stated

“It’s not as easy as some game developers like to think; that’s it’s just that you do A, X, Y, and Z and everything is done. It’s actually much bigger than that now,” Troedsson said. “There are some people that actually see this as a new phenomenon and that’s not true either. It’s been around for a long time. It’s just recently that it’s really starting to take off…” Troedsson further explained that Battlefield multiplayer has always been “very competitive” and “the heart” of every new installment in the series.”And that won’t change moving forward,” he said.

After making stupid money from the premium content I can see why they would want to maximize the multiplayer experience. Which brings me to my next point. Why no co op? I know the co op in BF3 wasn’t but an after thought it was still another notch under their belt. I guess to bring us a great online and offline multiplayer experience they have to focus on it.

“We don’t have co-op in Battlefield 4. We have made that decision. We’re focusing everything we have on multiplayer and the single-player,”

So we all know the Wii-U is failing. I went over to http://wiiudaily.com/2013/03/battlefield-4-wii-u-nope/ and realized the reaction from the die hard fans of nintendo was that of a baby throwing a tantrum. I mean who didn’t see this coming. We all know when a console isn’t selling the desicion that have to be made is simple economics. No demand means no sales.

DICE creative director Lars Gustavsson has confirmed that Battlefield 4 will not be available on the Wii U. In an interview with Videogamer, he stated:

I think overall for me as creative director, number one is to deliver a really great game and experience. Sometimes, at least for us, it’s focusing on what you do well and what you know well, and ensuring that you deliver something good than trying a bit too much, stretching yourself too thin and risking it. I’d rather play it safe, deliver something really good and then look at the future and what could possibly be done than trying a bit too hard and [failing].

So while reading some of the aggravated comments one actuaaly backed up his concerns with a E3 video.http://www.youtube.com/watch?f…

So EA are not fully backing the Wii-U. It all sound good on paper but when the sales don’t match with the hype you have things like this happening. No big titles for your console. Sorry nintendo you are soon going the way of the dinosaur. So we can expect BF4 for the PS4 and Xbox Durango. I can’t wait for Fall to reach so I can pwn noobs online!!! Till then stay frosty!
